On May 23, 2022, Mr. Yixiong Jia successfully defended his Master thesis. The title of his Master graduation thesis is "Research on Fault Location and Parameter Estimation of Power Networks Based on State Estimation". The defense committee members are Dr. Junrui Liang from ShanghaiTech University, Dr. Haoyu Wang from ShanghaiTech University, and Dr. Xiaodong Zheng from Shanghai Jiao Tong Univeristy.
Mr. Yixiong Jia joined the lab at the beginning of 2019. In the past 3 years, he devoted himself to the research of fault location and parameter estimation for power networks. Mr. Yixiong Jia is the first master graduate from PSPAL. He has one first-author journal paper published on Electric Power System Research about fault location in power networks using sparse estimation, and several first-author conference papers in IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM) about state and parameter estimation. He is also planning to submit another first-author journal paper about fault location in power networks soon. Starting from Fall 2022, he will continue his Ph.D. study in the University of Hong Kong, with emphasis on power system operation and optimization.
