The 19th Korea-China Joint Seminar on Power System Protection & Automation was successfully
held in South Korea this year. Hosted at Myongji University in Seoul, the seminar took place
from October 23rd to 25th, 2025.
As a long-standing platform for technical exchange and collaboration between the two countries,
the seminar plays a significant role in sharing the latest research outcomes, discussing key challenges,
and promoting innovation in power system protection and automation. It continues to strengthen academic
and industrial ties between Korea and China, contributing to the advancement and reliability of power systems
in the region and beyond.
Dr. Yu Liu gave a oral presentation titled "Travelling Wave Based Velocity-Free Single-Ended Fault Location
Method for Transmission Lines". After the oral presentation, the faculty members and students raised
valuable questions about the details of the proposed methods, the practical engineering considerations
of the methods as well as the future research directions.
