On April 27 2019, Dr. Jinfa Zhang, director of Delta Shanghai Design Center, visited ShanghaiTech. In the morning, Dr. Jinfa Zhang visited PSPAL. Dr. Yu Liu introduced the ongoing research about power system fault diagnosis and power electronic system condition monitoring. Afterwards, the performance of the proposed DSE based protection algorithm in transmission lines was demonstrated and compared to existing protection methods using the power hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform in the lab.
In the afternoon, Dr. Zhang pariticaptes in 'Industrial Advisor Salon' and gave a talk 'opportunities and challenges in power electronics'. After the talk, Dr. Zhang and his colleges discuss with students about carrer development plans in the area of power electronics.
